Palm Beach County has one of Florida's most active building enforcement programs. These are the facts every homeowner should understand before starting a renovation.
Nearly all Palm Beach County homes built after 1960 are concrete block (CBS). Kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, and built-ins require masonry anchors rated for the load — not the toggle bolts used in wood-frame states. Wrong hardware fails within 18 months. We spec and install the correct anchors, documented in your written scope.
Any change to drain or supply line locations requires cutting the concrete slab. This cost — $800–$3,500 depending on scope — is almost never in an early estimate from contractors who haven't reviewed your floor plan. We identify slab cutting requirements at the site visit, before you sign.
Palm Beach County Building Division requires permits for any plumbing, electrical, or structural modification. Permit fees for kitchen remodels run $350–$900; bathroom remodels $200–$700. We pull every permit, schedule every inspection, and hand you the certificate of completion.
Homes on Singer Island, Juno Beach, Ocean Ridge, and the barrier islands fall under Coastal Construction Control Line (CCCL) regulations for certain work. Many Palm Beach communities have HOA contractor requirements — insurance riders, work hour restrictions, delivery scheduling. We confirm all requirements before starting.

On the Ground in Palm Beach County
Palm Beach County is our home market — we have been pulling permits here since 2019. Here is what shapes every project in this county.
Palm Beach County is where we do the most work and where we know every nuance of the permit process. The difference between a project in unincorporated Palm Beach County and the same project in the Town of Jupiter is not just the fee — it is a different plan reviewer, a different inspection schedule, and different documentation requirements for HOA approval packages.
Our Delray Beach and Boca Raton projects regularly involve homeowners who have already been burned by contractors who submitted the wrong forms to the wrong office. We have that mapped. Every project gets the correct jurisdiction confirmed before we write the scope.

"D&Co gave me the only estimate that actually itemized the slab cut and the CBS anchoring. Every other contractor just gave me a round number. The final cost matched the estimate to within $400."
"The permit was pulled, the inspections were scheduled, and we never had to call the county once. That alone was worth every penny after hearing what happened to our neighbor with an unlicensed contractor."
"What I appreciated most was that they told us upfront what would push the cost up — the CBS walls and the island plumbin
