Cost Comparison
| Material | Cost per Linear Ft. | Typical Lifespan |

| Copper (seamless) | $25 – $40 | 50+ years |
Why Homeowners Choose Copper Anyway
Copper's appeal in Florida is mostly aesthetic and longevity-driven: it develops a natural greenish patina over time, doesn't need repainting, and outlasts nearly every other exterior material on the home. On historic-district properties or higher-end homes where curb appeal and longevity matter more than upfront cost, the premium can make sense.
Why Aluminum Remains the Default
For the vast majority of Florida homes, aluminum offers the better cost-to-performance ratio: it resists corrosion well in coastal environments, comes in a wide range of colors to match trim, and at proper gauge (.032″+) handles Florida's storm season reliably. We install aluminum on the large majority of our jobs and reserve copper for clients specifically requesting it.
"Copper is a beautiful product and it will genuinely outlast the house in some cases — but I tell most clients the honest truth: properly installed .032″ aluminum will do the job for a fraction of the cost, and most people can't tell the difference from the ground."
